Christianna, the daughter of Henry and Rebecca Dissinger Gontz, was born near Scotland, in Greene Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1857. She married Henry Luther Hepfer, the son of Daniel and Rebecca Fox Hepfer in 1875, and they resided in Chambersburg most of their married life. They had four daughters and one son: Gertrude "Ella", Anna G., Minnie E., Blanche A., and Charles R. Hepfer.
Henry L. Hepfer died in 1916. Christianna later married Reuben E. Seilhamer, a widower on January 18, 1920 in Chambersburg. Reuben was also the father of Christianna's daughter-in-law, Bertha Seilhamer Hepfer.
Christianna passed away in 1928, and was laid to rest beside her first husband and father of her children, Henry Luther Hepfer, at Stouffer Cemetery.
