Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lee Mills, 96, was held Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church located in the Little Creek Community with the Revs. Ron Nation and Walter Lloyd officiating.

Burial followed in the Hawthorne Cemetery under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home. She passed away in Jena, Louisiana Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

Mrs. Mills was born May 26, 1916 to the union of John Marion and Annie Carkett Lawrence in Parhams, Louisiana.

She was a graduate of Block High School, a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she faithfully served her Lord.She taught Junior and Adult Ladies Classes for several years and served as church clerk for 36 years. Her life was centered around her Lord, church, and family.

Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Willie Mills, her parents, and her brothers, Walter (Dutch) Lawrence, Dell Lawrence, and Ellis Lawrence, Sisters Nannie Thompson Allen, Lucille Mount, Ellie (Toad) Mills, and Edmonia Josey.

Those left to cherish her memory are son David Mills, Sr. and wife Katie of Little Creek. Daughter Pam Elliott and Husband Dennis of Little Creek. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisia Smith and husband Huey, Jr., of Jena, David Carlton Mills,Jr. of Little Creek and Kelli Tant and husband Andrew of Georgetown. Four great-grandchildren Erica, Caleb, Seth, and Chris. Three Great-great-grandchildren Dylan, Cadyn, and Rylan.

Serving as pallbearers were Seth Smith, Caleb Smith, Carl Mills, Chris Mills, Jared Elliott, and Jesse Hailey. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Cockerham, Mike Hailey, Damon Smith, David Smith, Lynn Smith, Carl smith, and Chad Poole.
