Basil "Bud" Burdette Carlson, 81, of Osceola, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at his home in Osceola.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Calvary Lutheran Church, in Swede Home, with Pastor Rebecca Sheridan officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Private family inurnment will be in the Swede Home Cemetery at a later date.

Dubas Funeral Home, of Osceola and Stromsburg, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Basil "Bud" was born July 1, 1930, to Harry Wilhelm and Farris Luella (Swisher) Carlson in Phelps County near Holdrege. Bud attended a one room country school for eight years and attended public high school in Elm Creek.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice; parents Harry and Farris; six brothers and four sisters Winston, Paul, Stanley, LeMonte, Neal, Randy, Fern Swanson, Evelyn Bjorklund, Deloris Amen, and Devonnamay Carlson.
