A retired Exxon Chemical employee and a resident of Greenwell Springs, was 92 1/2 years old and a native of Alabama.
Survived by his wife, Mary Jo Abbott Messer; two daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Bob Morris, and Edythe and Curtis Thompson; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Judy Messer; three sisters, Joyce Martin, Janice Roland and Myrtis Keowen; a brother, Murphy Messer; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
