W.C. Thornburgh, Mooreland Farmer, Dies, Rites Set

Mooreland (Spl) --William C. Thornburgh, 68, of near Mooreland, died at the Henry County Hospital Sunday evening after a brief illness with a heart ailment.

He was a well-known farmer and had lived in the Mooreland community most of his life. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge in New Castle and the South Christian church in Mooreland.

Surviving are the wife Hazel,whom he married Dec. 1,1905;two daughters, Miss Vada Thornburgh of Hagerstown and Mrs. Robert Acker of Mooreland; two sons, Dale of Mt. Summit and Lee of Mooreland;four grandchildren;two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Current of Cowan and Mrs. Bennie Waltz of Muncie;and a brother, A.E. Thornburgh of Mooreland.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock at the South Christian Church with Rev. Herbert Swearingen officiating.

Burial will be in Mooreland cemetery. Friends may call at the Main & Sons funeral home in Mooreland after 7 o'clock this evening.
