Philip Wayne Gibbs, 65 of Hendersonville died April 29, 2007.

Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Alice Gibbs and brother Glenn Gibbs.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Gibbs; daughters, Rhonda (Dale) Cohea and Tonya (David) Berg; grandchildren, Jamie and Lindsey Cohea, and Nicholas Berg; sisters, Opal Gibbs, and June Vaden; brothers, Maxie Gibbs, Sr., Allen Gibbs and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Donnie Vaden, Tim Vaden, Chris Gibbs, Maxie Gibbs, Jr., Martin Cross, and Matt Brewer. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Ransom, Charlie Greer, Bill Anderson, Gail Chittum, and Randall Cross.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Charles Allen Gentry and Kenny Hensley officiating.

Graveside services followed at 3:30 p.m. in the Smith County Memorial Gardens in Carthage.

Arrangements were made by Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home.
