"Mrs. Eliza Gartin, daughter of William and Sarah Fazel, was born in Illinois November 13, 1840, and died August 4, 1926, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 21 days. Funeral services were held at the Raymondsville Church, conducted by Rev Hiram W. Craig, and burial at Allen Cemetery.
She was married to Charles Gartin in 1874 in Chariton, Iowa She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Sina Helms, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Minnie McBee, Dewey, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ida Neeley, Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: William Fazel, Raymondsville; and Columbus Fazel, of Iowa; and one sister: Mrs. Ellen Murphy of South Dakota, other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Gartin professed religion at age 17, and at the time of her death was a member of the Baptist Church of Raymondsville. She lived a true and faithful Christian life, and has now gone on to partake of the joys of the glory world."
