Elva passed away June 8, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 96. She was born November 7, 1915, in Wilson, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Alexander and Jettie Lee Green Wood. Elva was a homemaker, and also enjoyed working at Plaza Fabrics for many years. Elva lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1963, moving from Merced, California. She was a member of Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, in Pineville, Arkansas. Elva enjoyed sewing and crafts, was a wonderful seamstress, and a great creator. Elva's greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, and housewife.
Elva is survived by her son-in-law, Harlan Bradshaw, of Mountain Home, AR; six children, daughter, Darlene (Bill) Brown, of Tehachapi, CA, daughter, Joan Cooper, of Thomasville, NC, daughter, Lynda (Ronnie) Morris, of Pryor, OK, son, Noel (Pauline) Moore of Mountain Home, AR, daughter, Vida (Jim) Biggers, of Mountain Home, AR, and daughter, Gail (Randy) Callahan, of Mountain Home, AR; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Lola Rogers, of Amarillo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carol Bradshaw, and son-in-law, Charles Cooper.
Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Jonathan Callahan, Ross Coddington, James Biggers, Richard Moore, Michael, Keith, and Donnie Bradshaw as pallbearers. Harlan Bradshaw, Noel Moore, Jim Biggers, Randy Callahan, Ronnie Morris and Bill Brown will serve as honorary pallbearers.
