Sarah was the second child of Daniel and Frances Whisamore. Sarah grew up on a farm but after marriage became a city gal. She married Jess O Buffington around 1915. They had two sons; Alfred and Clifford Buffington. Sarah and her husband, Jess, lived most of their adult lives in the small town of Oswego, Kansas on Indiana Street. There they had a small home that was close to the main street of town.
Alfred, Sarah's and Jess's other son, lived near them in Kansas in the town of Coffeyville. In Sarah's later years she and Jess would often leave Kansas and travel to Southern California during the winter months. There they would rent a small home to stay in while being near their son, Clifford and his family; Glenna (wife) and daughters Cherry and Candy.
Sarah was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly.
