Reuben and Catherine moved from Indiana to Missouri in 1867, according to family bible records. Based on the 1880 census records for Jackson Twp., Putnam Co., IN, they moved back to Indiana prior to the birth of their son Elmer in 1873. That census indicates that only Reuben IV was born in Missouri. All other children are listed as being born in Indiana. At this time, it is not known when the family left Indiana a second time for Missouri. However, it would likely have been between 1880 and 1882 as their daughter Carrie was married to Edward Moore in Missouri on December 29, 1882.
