Eva "Bertie" Roberta Lenox, 86, Beardsley House, Elkhart, died at 5:40 a.m. Sun. June 10, 2012. She was formerly of Alanson, Mich. and Indianapolis, Ind. She was born to Gerald & Mabel (Kantner) LeMaster and was raised by Grace Kantner Bell & William A. Bell and became one of their family of two other children. She married Willard H. Lenox on Feb. 14, 1943.
Surviving are her husband, daughter, Trudy Myers of Elkhart, grandchildren, Katie Meyer, Elkhart, James (Megan) Myers, Washington D.C., Nick (Bethany) Myers, Colorado Springs, Colo., sisters, Mary Marie Matthews, Emporia, Virg., Beverly Helm, Brownsburg, sister-in-law, Patricia Bell, Anderson and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers, William H. Bell & Robert LeMaster, sisters, Nadine Perry & Maxine LeMaster.
va was a hydrologic technician with soil conservation service, retiring in 1984 and previously owned a beauty shop. She was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church and the Millersville Eastern Star. She was recognized for her work in the Federal Womens Program. Her passion was cooking that she loved to share with others. She served her country as a Rosie the Riveter.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thurs. June 14, 2012 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service at St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 W. Lexington Ave., Elkhart, Fri. June 15, 2012. Father Daniel Repp & Father Nicholas Myers will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery, Pennville. Memorials may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
