Lloyd Vinson Ferrell, age 80, of Route 3, Atlanta Highway, Rockmart, died Sunday, April 26, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Ferrell was born February 18, 1907, in Cobb County and was the son of the late James Vinson Ferrell and Amanda Elizabeth Ferrell. He had lived in Polk County for most of his life and prior to retirement was employed by the Polk County School System. He was a member of the Seney Baptist Church and the Rockmart Masonic Lodge number 97 F. and A.M. He was a Past Master of the Davitte Lodge number 513 F. and A.M. Mr. Ferrell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Bramlette Ferrell, to whom he was married on November 25, 1929; one son, Kenneth Ferrell, of Magee, Miss.; four daughters, Mrs. Grace Borders and Mrs. Margie Glenn, both of Rockmart, Mrs. Martha Subblefield of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Wanda Lindsey of Marietta; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Ackle of Roswell and Mrs. Minnie Popham of Acworth. Fourteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at the Seney Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Burdette, the Rev. Russell Jolly and the Rev. George Robinson officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rockmart Lodge number 97 F. and A.M. in charge of Masonic graveside rites. Pallbearers were Keith Borders, Lance Gleen, Chesley Glenn, Kelly Lindsey, Kerry Gillespie and Neil Morgan. The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
