Parley Elton Dudley
02/05/1942 ~ 04/16/2012
Our Father, Parley Elton Dudley, died on April 16, 2012 from heart disease, which was exasperated by two back surgeries. He was surrounded by family who loved him and will miss him.
Parley was born February 5, 1942 to Warren Rex Dudley and Ruby Rose (Jensen) Dudley. He was the middle of three children. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School where he played football and excelled in the drum corp. Parley joined the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam as an Airman. He was proud of his military service and the opportunity to serve the country he loved. He Married Brenda Lynn Young in 1964. They were divorced in 1994. They had four Children. Parley always considered himself a "by your bootstraps" kind of man who raised himself out of poverty to a successful existence. He was a man of infinite creativity. There was no mechanical problem he couldn't resolve. He was an expert model builder who loved to build impeccable scale versions of classic cars in pine for his boy's pinewood derbies. He loved to hunt and enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed sharing his love for the wilderness with his children and grandchildren. Parley was a member of the Corvette Club of Utah and enjoyed the associations and friendships he built with the club. He spent the last several years of his life with Hope Nibley who was his companion and friend.
His parents, and his brother Arnold Dudley precede him in death.
He is survived by his four children Kevin (Lisa) Dudley, Shelly (Anis) Aoude, Kimberley (Kyle) Walker, Shaun (Jennifer) Dudley and his sister Nina (Dudley) Millet.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. for family and friends at the Chapel at the Memorial Park.
