Frank "D" Kirby of Lamont died Saturday, June 9 at the age of 78.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home of Pond Creek. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, in First Christian Church in Lamont with the Rev. Jeff McDonald and Carl Criswell, chaplain, officiating. Burial will follow in Lamont Cemetery.

Frank D. Kirby was born Oct. 3, 1933, outside of Lamont, the son of Edward and Rena Huffington Kirby.

He married Sandrea Adams on May 6, 1956 in Lamont. They operated a dairy farm for 43 years.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

He was a sergeant in the marines and rifle instructor from March 23, 1953, to March 22, 1956.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Klane of Moore, Kyle of Lamont and Travis of Tonkawa; sisters,Florence Brewer of Enid and Loreta Knight of Paroma, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two bothers, Joel and Paul.

Memorial contributions may be sent to First Christian Church in Lamont.
