VILLAS MAN DIES IN CRASH

LOWER TOWNSHIP- A Villas man was killed Thursday after he lost control of his car on Fulling Mill road and hit a tree, police said.

Matthew L. Bock, 32, of 4 E. Tampa Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene, police said Friday.

The accident occurred about a half mile east of Bayshore Road. Bock was traveling west on Fulling Mill road around 10:40 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and hit a tree, police said.

The Lower Township rescue squad was called to the scene and the victim was eventually transported to a nearby hospital. The accident was still under investigation on Friday.

Bock was born in Philadelphia and lived in Downingtown, Pa., before moving here five years ago.

He was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and was a foreman for the Emsig Manufacturing Co., Villas, for five years.

Surviving are: his wife, Roberta; a daughter, Rhiannon, and a stepson, Jason Lennan, both at home; his parents Charles Henry and Roberts (sic- should be Vesta Jane Lunny Bock) Bock of Downingtown, Pa., three brothers, William Edward of Avalon, Charles Henry Jr. and David, both of Coatesville, Pa.; three sisters, Mary Kathryn Lopollis (sic- should be Lippolis) of Philadelphia and Nancy Ann Bock Lindley and Sarah Jane Bock, both of Downingtown.

Services and burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Radzieta Funeral Home, Cape May Court House.

Matthew L. Bock, 12/24/1949 – 11/11/1982 is buried in the Baptist Cemetery in Cape May Court House, NJ. No service information available other than Vietnam Era.*

*Note: Served in the Navy stationed in Puerto Rico and Adak, Alaska.
