Dr Smith had practiced medicine in Jacksonville for 35 years. He is survived by two sons: Carl H Smith of Jacksonville and Ralph K Smith, pilot for Eastern Air Transport out of Richmond; four brothers: Hines M Smith of Chattanooga, Franch C Smith of Los Angeles, Royal R Smith of Atlanta, and Carl Holt Smith of Mexico City; four sisters: Miss Marion Smith of Jacksonville, Mrs George H Aubrey and Mrs WW Young of Cartersville GA and Mrs Stella Bromley of Atlanta. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Scottish Rite, the Shrine and Florida Country Club. About four years ago Dr. Smith built the Smith building at 211 East Forsyth street, where he conducted his practice and where he made his home. Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon, The Rev Charles A Ashby, rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
