B.R.Tillman, Jr., Dies at Clemson Early Wednesday ANDERSON, May 17 (JP) Funeral arrangements for Benjamin R. Tillman, Jr., 72, who died at the Clemson Hotel in Clemson early today, have not been completed, pending arrival of his daughters from Washington, D. C. The Services probably will be held in Ebenezer Cemetery at Trenton.. Mr. Tillman, son of the famous "Pitchfork Ben" Tillman, twice governor of South Carolina and for 24 consecutive years United States Senator, was a graduate of Clemson's first class in 1899. A retired Department of Justice employee, he came to Clemson in 1947 to write a biography of his father.
