Phyllis Lucille Newman Reynolds, 73, of Hamden, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Edgewood Manor in Wellston.

She was born January 15, 1939 in Laurel City, West Virginia, daughter of the late Acie and June Trusley Adkins. Phyllis was married to Roscoe Reynolds, who survives.

She attended Locust Grove United Methodist Church and was formerly employed at the Vinton County Senior Citizens Center. Phyllis was a Volunteer for RSVP and Hospice and was a member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Currie of Hamden; stepsons, Hoyt (Stephanie) Reynolds and Charles (Tiffany) Reynolds; grandchildren, Anthony Travis (Tiffany) Douglas of Advance, North Carolina and Scooter Currie III of Hamden; seven step grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren;one great great grandchild; brothers, Larry, Bobby and Billy Adkins; sisters, Patricia McGriff, Betty Lewis and Alice King and sister-in-law, Gladys Adkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Emory Newman; brothers, Buddy, Darrell and Richard Adkins; sisters, Janice Lynn Adkins and Rita McCranie; sister-in-law, Brenda Adkins and stepson, Fred Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, June 11, 2012 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur
