Mrs. Charlotte Barwick Dead.
Mrs. Charlotte A. Barwick died yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Esther Laloge, with whom she spent the summer.
Mrs. Barwick was about 86 years old. She was the widow of George T. Barwick, who died October 20, 1913. She was born in London, England, and was married to Mr. Barwick (1850) before she came to the United States in 1855. In 1857, with Mr. Barwick, she came to Lyon County, and lived on a farm in the northern part of the county until thirty years ago, when the family came to Emporia. Mr. Barwick for many years ran a livery business near Seventh Avenue and Mechanic Street. His livery barn and business was destroyed in one of the town's big fires. Mrs. Barwick had no relatives in the United States. The Barwick home for many years was at 705 Mechanic Street. Mrs. Barwick had lived in her home since Mr. Barwick's death, until last spring, when her infirmities made necessary a change, and she went to Cedar Point.
The body was brought to Emporia at 10:45 o'clock today, and was taken to Maplewood Cemetery and interred beside that of her husband. The funeral was attended by the old friends and neighbors of the Barwicks. Rev. J.H.J. Rice, of the First Congregational Church, conducted the services at the grave.
