Great Falls, Sept. 19--Charles J. Seifert, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Seifert of this city, died this morning at 4:50 from bruises and burns received in an explosion and fire at the Regal refinery at Calgary, Alberta, yesterday afternoon. Mr. Seifert was office manager of the refining company.
Cause of the explosion remained a mystery today. So great was the shock that the roof of the building was thrown 30 feet in the air and walls of the structure crumbled. Seifert crawled about ten yards through the wall before he lost consciousness.
Mr. Seifert was born in Great Falls, Nov. 16, 1897, and attended St. Mary's school, from which he was graduated in 1912. He also graduated from Gonzaga university in 1915. He formerly worked at the Lewistown Refining company and more than a year ago went to Calgary to take charge of the Regal Oil and Refining company office.
