She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence Abbiehl; and brother, Leroy Abbiehl.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth R. Vandygriff; sons, Daniel Vandygriff (Lisa) and Todd Vandygriff (fiancee Mandy); daughter, Bonnie Garbus (Rob); grandchildren, Chris, Alex and Aydin; sisters, Lois Frick, Pat Graham (Paul), Alma McClelland ( H.L.), Janet Holderbaum ( Cliff) and Mary Holderbaum (Marv); sister in law, Geneva Abbiehl; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Carol's life will be noon on Tuesday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Monday and again on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
