Death Summons Ronan Rancher

Funeral services for John S. Myers, who died at his home four miles west of Ronan last Tuesday, will be held from the family home at ten o'clock this morning, conducted by Rev. E. D. Swisher. The remains will be taken to Polson for interment. Death came after a brief illness, the result of an attack of appendicitis. Present at the deathbed were the wife and children of the deceased, with the exception of a son and daughter who arrived in Ronan from the east in time for the funeral.

John Myers was born Oct. 30, 1850. He was married to Electa Conley and two boys blessed this union, Clyde R. Myers of Evanson, Ill., and Lewis who died in infancy. The mother died and in time Mr. Myers was united in marriage with Nannie Lamoure and two children came, Myrtle A. Myers who lives in Duluth, Minn., and Avis who died in infancy. Again the mother died and on Feb. 26, 1888, Mr. Myers was united in marriage with Flora Cushman and five children were born to this union, Lilly Valah who died in infancy, Celia May, now Mrs. Fred Hughes of Ronan; Alma Etta, Laura Marie and Johnnie McKinley, all of whom survive their father. Mr. Myers and his family came to the Flathead about five years ago. He was well known as one of our most honored and esteemed ranchers. He joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1890, and during his residence on the Flathead was a loyal worker and faithful supporter of the Round Butte church. Mr. Myers' death is keenly felt not only by is loved ones, but by his many friends and neighbors.
