Mrs. Alfred (Vivian Lenora) Chittum, 77, RFD 3, Chillicothe, died at 2:15 this morning at Hedrick Medical Center, where she had been a patient one day. She had been in failing health several years.
Mrs. Chittum was born March 30, 1902, in Browning, daughter of Alexander C. and Tina Bell Bingham. She attended school in Browning and on Feb. 5, 1921, was married to Alfred C. Chittum in Chillicothe.
They made their home from 1947 to 1971 in Clarence, where they were in the grocery business. They moved to Chillicothe in 1971. Mrs. Chittum was a member of the United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred of the home; three sons, Brownie, Chillicothe; Clarence Melvin, Sunrise Beach, and Allison Dale, Clarence; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the chapel of the Normal Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred (Vivian Lenora) Chittum, who died Monday, were held this afternoon at 1:30 at the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Griffith officiating. Don Hofheins sang "Beyond the Sunset," "The Lord's Prayer" and "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Mrs. Jean Burton, organist.
Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Richard Young, David Daniel, Richard Chittum, Brownie Chittum, Melvin Chittum, Dale Chittum and Gene Shackleford.
