John Orwen, for many years a resident of Douglas, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edgar Lynch, at Guymon, Oklahoma early Friday morning. Death was caused by pneumonia. When a young man, he came west, locating in Nebraska. About thirty years ago he came to Douglas, and this city had been his home since, although in recent years he has spent considerable time at the home of his daughter in Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Mary Marshall on November 29, 1890. She passed away in this city about five years ago. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Lynch, and a son, Clarence, who is in the postal service at Beatrice, Nebraska. John Orwen was a good citizen, a good mechanic, industrious, affable, he numbered his friends by his acquaintances and his death is much regretted.
