Mildred Viola (Gildemeister) Schaller Haban, 80 years of Jefferson, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2008 at Countryside Home in Jefferson surrounded by her family and Hospice. Mildred was born on July 11, 1928 in Germantown, WI, the daughter of the late William and Lillie (Guetzke) Gildemeister. She was preceded in death by three husbands; Merlin Schaller, Elmer Marsch, and Ernest Haban. She enjoyed the company of her family, bird watching, gardening, and shopping. Mildred had obtained a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse through home study. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, WI Survivors' include eight children; Nancy Benson of Johnson Creek, Merlin (Linda) Schaller of Fort Atkinson, Rick(Sandra) Schaller of Jefferson, Barbara (John) Firkus of Fort Atkinson, Fern (Dale) Dehnert of Watertown, WI, Kathleen Andrews of Johnson Creek, Nick Schaller of Madison, Anna Wachal of Jefferson; 25 grandchildren, 36 Great-grandchildren, 2 g-g-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice (Victor) Schroeter of Cedarburg, WI. Dyann (Edward) Chouinard of Rockford, IL, one brother, Donald (Kay) Madisen of Menomonee Falls, WI. Also preceding in death were six brothers; William, Reinhold, Harold, Arthur, Wilbur and August Gildemeister, and two sisters Viola Lentz and Esther Kaufert; three sons-in-law, Marc Lehman, Tom Ahlestedt and John Wachal. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson, WI. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown, WI.
