Frank M. Cope
Frank M. Cope, 76, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va. He was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Lloyd M. and Flora O. (Marker) Cope.
He was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel. Frank was a member and Past Master of Ohio City Lodge #486 F. & A.M., Martins Ferry. He was also President of the Masonic Temple Corp.; a member of Chapter #173 RAM; American Legion Post #227 of Bridgeport; a veteran of the U.S. Army and an Episcopalian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Bertram, Julia Tyler and Clara Cope.
Surviving are his wife, Patty Jo (Lehman) Cope, a son, Lloyd Cope and a daughter, Ruth (Rick) Knutsen, all of Martins Ferry; a brother, Wayne J. (Mary Louise) Cope of Zephyrhills, Fla., and three grandsons, Richard McKinley Knutsen, Ryan Carl Knutsen, and Robert Todd Knutsen.
Friends will be received Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, Ohio, where services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2004, at 11 a.m., with Rev. John P. Brandenburg officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Masonic Ritualistic services will be held Friday at 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Prostate Cancer Research Fund, c/o Schiffler Cancer Center, 1 Medical Park, Wheeling, WV 26003.
