John S Boyd, 88, well known farmer of the 3rd district of Overton County, died at his home near Hilham on Wednesday, February 5 at 8 a.m. of influenza and complications after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Hayse Boyd; six daughters, Mrs. Ab Davis, Mrs. Jasper Hollars of Hilham; Mrs. John Hollars of Springfield, Ill; Mrs. Walter Green of Antioch, Tn; Mrs. Ed Chilton of Timothy and Mrs. Lula Bilyeu of Cookeville; and one son, Thomas of Hilham.
He has been a member of the Church of Christ for many years.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday at the Campground Presbyterian Church with burial in the cemetery there.
