Mike McCarty, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of this county, died at his late home in the eat part of town, Monday evening, October 12, at 8:30 o'clock, after an illness of three weeks. The largely attended services were conducted by Rev Father P. H. Gaffney were held at St Patrick's Catholic church, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Walnut Catholic Cemetery. Walnut Paper Oct 16, 1908.

Anne G. McCarty born 18 Oct 1889, and Stella Jane McCarty born 08 May 1886 and died 29 Jun 1886.
All the children were born in Walnut, Pottawattamie Co, Iowa.
