Geraldine Louise "Gerry" Abram, 87, of 409 Eveningtide Ave., Altoona, died Wednesday at Valley View Home.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Francis and Cora (Funk) Burger. She married Thomas W. Abram, and he died Sept. 5, 1991.

Surviving are three daughters: Patricia Kraft (Donald) of Altoona, Linda Turchetta (Greg) of York and Sandra Dodson (Frederick) of Sinking Valley; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Wills and Dorothy Burger; and two brothers: Ronnie and Bobby Burger.

Gerry was a graduate of Altoona High School and Altoona Beauty School, and she was the owner and operator of Gerry's Beauty Shop, which she operated out of her home. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

Gerry enjoyed bingo, bowling and playing Bunko. She was a foster grandparent for The Arc of Blair County and the Adult Center for Exceptional Learning program.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Monsignor Robert Mazur. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
