Estelle Martin Lipps

Estelle Martin Lipps, 87, of Englewood, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Life Care Center of Athens.

A native of McMinn County and a resident of Englewood for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Horace Peeler Martin and Mamie Moses Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tolbert A. Lipps of Englewood; two brothers, James R. "Jim" Martin of Englewood, and Cecil Martin of Cleveland; one sister, Beulah McCullough of Vonore; three nieces, Cathy Crabtree of Riceville, Glenna Faye Martin of Athens, and Libby Kennedy of Vonore; one nephew, H.P. McCullough of Vonore; and one great-nephew, James Conner Lane of Soddy Daisy.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Dezma Jewel Martin of Athens; nieces and their spouses, Jimmie Sue and Sherman Williams of Athens, Dana and Ronnie Lane of Englewood, Vickie and James Croft of Smyrna, Debbie Mullinax of Englewood, Sandra Martin and Charlotte McPhail, both of Athens, Barbara Summey of Vonore, and Tim Crabtree, husband of the late Cathy Crabtree, of Riceville; nephews and their spouses, Danny and Carlean Martin of Riceville, Steve and Pat Martin of Englewood, James Gregory "Buster" and Charlene Martin of Etowah, and Curtis Martin of Englewood.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Coleman and Ronnie Lane officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 2 p.m. burial.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
