William J. Hill
William J. Hill, 63, Rock Island conductor, died Friday morning at his home, 1105 West Eighth, following an extended illness.
Born in Rayville, Mo., December 8, 1878, he had been a resident of Topeka 11 years and prior to that time had resided in Bellville where he had made his home for 25 years. He had been in the services of the Rock Island railroad 44 years.
He married Winnie Price April 20, 1904.
He was a member of the Belleville Masonic lodge No. 129, Railway Conductors order, A.O.U.W. No. 3 and attended the Methodist church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Winnie Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Felix M. Vincent, Clay Center, Kan., and Miss Inez Hill, of the home; his father, O.F. Hill, Burlington, Ia.; one grandson, Roger Hill Vincent, Clay Center, and three brothers and two sisters.
The body was taken to the Penwell funeral home.
