Charles Kenneth Butler of North Augusta, S.C., entered into rest on Tuesday, Oct. 4. He was born in Tellico Plains to Woodrow and Pauline Farner Butler. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, with 20 years of service. He retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass with 15 years of service and was a commercial truck driver for a number of years. He was a member of Mid-Valley Baptist Church, the Belvedere Masonic Lodge #388 AFM and the Jesse Lynch American Legion Post #71.
Survivors include: wife-Carolyn Faye Butler;
Daughters-Shirley Viera of Keysville, Ga.; Theresa Berry of Nashville; and Robin Wilson of Columbus, Ga.;
Sisters-Delta Webb and Nola Tallent, both of Tellico Plains;
Brothers-Keith Butler, Leon Butler, Herschel Butler, Grady Butler and Randall Butler, all of Tellico Plains;
A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Friday, at Mid-Valley Baptist Church, with Rev. Bert Baynham officiating. Burial with full military honors, will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, S.C., in charge of arrangements.
