E.V. Adams, 90, of Americus, Ga.
E.V. (Buddy) Adams, 90, of Americus, Ga., died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus. He was born in Tifton, Ga., on Aug. 2, 1909, to Polk and Lillian T. Adams. He was employed for many years by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad as a telephone maintainer. At the time of his retirement, he was an inspector for the Long Line Division of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. After retirement he became a resident of Inverness for 27 years. He had also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avon Park. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Velma Hayes Adams of Americus, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Wagner and John of Sebring, Joanne Jones and Don of Sandy, Utah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles P. Adams and Millie of Statesboro, Ga., E.L. (Bud) Adams and Carol of Marysville, Wash.; five granddaughters, Kathy Jones of Sandy, Utah, Linda Dimech of Palm Harbor, Rebecca Adams of Washington, D.C., Elizabeth Adams of Atlanta, Ga., and Jonna Adams of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson, Colton Adams of Marysville, Wash.; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Dougherty of Greenwood, S.C., and Patricia DeVane of Crystal River; one brother, Charles E.
