Mrs. Grace Carney, 74, died Wednesday, May 31, 1978, at Taylor County Hospital. She was a native of Adair County born there February 24, 1904, the daughter of the late Jefferson and Deliha Woodrum Ross. Mrs. Carney was a resident of Knifley, a member of the Knifley Christian Church, and the widow of the late Stanley Carney. Survivors include three sons: Stanley Carney Jr. of Columbia, Millard Carney of Mt. Washington, and Michael Carney of Knifley; five daughters: Margaret Carney of Campbellsville, Janet Sanders of Casey Creek, Lou Carney of Flagstaff, Ariz., Kay Krug of Knifley, and Cindy Williams of Campbellsville. One brother survives: Frank Ross of Franklin, Indiana, and one sister: Mrs. Della McPhail of Lake City, Fla.; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by the Lyon Funeral Home at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at Knifley Christian Church with Rev. Allen Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Caldwell Ridge Cemetery.
