MRS. CHARLES CHIPMAN, OF GERMANTOWN, PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Charels Chipman wife of one of Germantown's most prominent residents, died at her home, 232 Wister street, yesterday, from complications which followed an attack of Bright's disease. While her age has in recent years kept Mrs. Chipman from participating in the social life of Germantown, she was at one time prominent in the select circles of that suburb.

Her husband is a retired manufacturer who is well known among the local horsemen, he being the owner of several fast trotters. Mrs. Chipman, whose name was then Mary Van Artsdalen, was a belle of Germantown in her early life. She has been married about forty years. The funeral services will be held from her husband's home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Charles Seasholes and Rev Charles Thomas, both of Germantown, will officiate at the services. The interment will be at West Laurel Hill Cemetery."
