Robert W. Shoemaker, 82, Pinellas Park, Fla., died Sunday evening at the Veterans' Hospital in Pinellas Park, where he had been a patient since Thursday. He had been in ill health for the past year.
He lived in this area most of his life, in New Jersey for a short time, and in Florida for the past four years. He was a musician, and a member of Berwick Elks and Berwick Moose.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Bright, to whom he was married the past four years; a son, Robert Weeden, West Long Beach, NJ; the following stepchildren: Deborah Erb, Mifflinburg; Daniel Chilcote, in the U.S. Navy at Washington, D.C.; David Chilcote, Berwick; Daniel Chilcote, Limestoneville R.D.; a sister, Mrs. Olive Liddle, Berwick; two brothers: Roland Shoemaker, Philadephia and George Shoemaker, Bloomfield, NJ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the John B. Klechner Funeral Home, Berwick, with the Rev. Russell Mengel, pastor of First United Church of Christ, Berwick, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Market Street, Berwick.
