Alvin W. Campbell, 76, of Bloomington, died 11:40 a.m. Monday at his residence.
Born March 10, 1936, in Monroe County, he was the son of Allen and Mildred L. Hall Campbell.
He had worked for Laborers Local 741 and at The Herald-Times.
He was a member of the Turning Point Church in Ellettsville.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann Hawkins Campbell; five sons, Steven Campbell of Ellettsville, Larry Campbell (Carla Ann), Daniel Campbell (Karen) and Jason Campbell, all of Bloomington, and Damon Runyon of Clearwater, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Moore of Ellettsville; and two granddaughters, Stephanie and Amber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one brother.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville, with Brother Ron Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
