MIDDLEPORT - Ethel Stewart Stitt, 82, of Middleport, died on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, W.Va.

She was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Middleport, daughter of the late John W. and Josephine Bell Stewart. She was a homemaker and attended the Hobson Church. She was a member of the auxiliaries of Feeney-Bennett Post 128, American Legion and Stewart-Johnson Post 9926, VFW.

Surviving are a daughter, Josephine C. Donohue and her friend, Jim Kennedy; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Jake" Stitt; three sons: Jimmy G. Stewart, John A. Logan, and Windie R. Logan; and a daughter, Candas S. Logan; and a brother, Fred W. Stewart.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Rev. James Keesee officiating. Burial will be in Letart Falls Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
