Beverly Hills, Ariz. — Manuel Gilbert "Nonie" Armendariz, Sr., age 57, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at his home in Beverly Hills, Ariz. He was born on May 27, 1955, in Miami, Ariz., the son of Antonio and Connie Armendariz. He grew up in Globe; he lived in California for a few years and moved back to Globe for the remainder of his life. During his life he was a construction worker and a mechanic. He loved hunting, camping, fishing, riding horses and spending time with his family.
Nonie was very nice, humble, caring and funny. He attended Globe schools while in Arizona. After coming back from California he attended Miami High School for a short period of time.
He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio; brothers, Antonio, Billy, Tommy and Baby Jose; sisters, Margie Norris and Linda Glasco; and nephews, Mark Hernandez and Johnny Armendariz.
Nonie is survived by the love of his life, Shirley Armendariz; his children, Rosemary and Martha of California, Patrice of Miami, Manuel, Jr. of Safford, Maria, Linda and Gabriel of San Carlos; mother, Connie Armendariz of Riverside, Calif.; sisters, Anthony (June) Coleman of Perris, Calif., Marylou Armendariz of Rialto, Calif., Susie (Clemente) Garcia of Riverside, Calif.; brothers, Joey Armendariz of Hemet, Calif. and Richard (Angie) Armendariz of Riverside, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2012, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan St., in Miami, Ariz.
Rosary will be Friday, June 8, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Pinal Cemetery, Central Heights, Ariz.
Funeral arrangements for Manuel G. Armendariz, Sr. were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
