Donald Ray Watkins, 68, of Paris, husband of Elizabeth Ann Mitchell Watkins, passed away Thursday January 12, 2012 after a long illness.
A native of Bourbon County, he was the son of the late Early Amos and Betsy Honaker Watkins. He was a retired farmer, Unites States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Trinity Church of God, Paris.
In addition to his wife survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Kristy Abney of Paris and Billy and Lisa Abney of Paris; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Tim Warmouth of Bath County, Nancy and Junior Sumpter of Bath Co. and Toni and Jesues Vasquez of Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Tommy and Joyce Watkins Paris and Harvey and Charlene Watkins of Winchester; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Watkins, Jr.; one grandchild, Alania McKinney; one brother, Jerry Watkins and one sister, Doris Jean Sauage.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday January 16, 2012 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home 1120 Main St., by the Rev. William Singleton, Rev. Don Jolly and Bro. Bobby Stone. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Monday January 16, 2012 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Mitchell, Jr., Jared Wayne McKinney, Tim Paul Warmouth, Jason Bailey, Darrell Rankin and Brian Walton. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Brake and Timmy Rankin.
