He was retired from 30 years in the United States Navy. Starting out by serving as a mine sweeper in the South China Sea and ended as the top supervisor of Naval Intelligence over the European Fleet and NATO Forces. After his retirement he was an accountant with Peltz, Williams, Larosa and Company in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henderson and Hattie Hoyle Henderson; 2 sons, Gregory Paul Henderson and John Thomas Henderson; brother, Robert Henderson, Jr.; sister, Ellen Baker.
He was survived by his daughter, Cynthia Chadwick (Alvin) of Saucier; 8 grandchildren, Jonothan Henderson of Woolmarket, Michael Henderson of Florida, Amanda Necaise of Gulfport, Brian Malley of Saucier, Nathan Chadwick of Saucier, Krissthy Chadwick of Saucier, Sarah Fairley of Saucier and Wendy Spohnholz of Wasilla, AK; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews, Bob Henderson of Tyler, TX and Bill Baker of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 nieces, Virginia Baker Owen of Mobile, AL and Jean Henderson Glover of San Diego, CA.
