Earl Day, 70, died today at his home in Summitville following an extended illness. He was born in Rigdon and spent most of his life in this community. He was a former grocer at Rigdon and a retired carpenter.
Funeral rites were conducted at the Rigdon Methodist church on Saturday with the Rev. Floyd White officiating. Burial was in the Knox Chapel cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Sara; one son, Estes Day, Philadelphia, Pa.; one daughter, Miss Bessie Day, Michigan City, Ind., one grandson, four brothers, Isaac, Whittier, Calif.; John, Marion; Ed, Rigdon, and Charles, Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Lawson, Mrs. Liza Todd, and Mrs. Lizzie Cooper, Rigdon, a half sister, Mrs. Emmaline Brown, Rigdon, and nine step-children.
