78; of Utica
Funeral services for Margaret "Maggie" Lentz, 78, of Utica, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with burial in Utica Hillcrest Cemetery. She died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Autumn Woods Health Campus.
The former Margaret Ann Cheser was a long time member of Utica Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and was a former member of the Joyful Messengers Singing Group. Past employment included GE, Fines Clothing, and being a teacher's aide at the Old Utica School where she also enjoyed running the scoreboard clock for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and thoroughly loved watching her family play various sports, especially baseball and softball.
She is survived by her children, Steve Lentz and his wife, Lisa, of Southaven, Miss., Patty DeArk and her husband, Robbie, of Utica, Kenny Lentz, of Utica, and Jina Wells and her husband, James, of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Evan Lentz, Tyler Lentz, and Kaci Lentz, all of Southaven, Miss.; Shawn DeArk (Gerri), of Mt. Washington, Ky.; Kendra DeArk, of Utica, Gretchen Lentz, Grant Lentz and Grace Lentz, all of New Albany, Jared Wells, Jaden Wells, and Jordan Wells, all of Jeffersonville, and Charlynn Jones, of Jeffersonville; great-grandchildren, Grady DeArk and Sloan DeArk, both of Mt. Washington, Ky.; and Tiara Jones, of Jeffersonville; sisters, Pat Smith and her husband, David, of Fairdale, Ky., and Mary Jo Brown and her husband, Earl, of Louisville, and a brother, Kenny Cheser and his wife, Sharon, of Jeffersonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenyon "Clark" Lentz; a son, Charles "Chuck" Lentz; and her parents, Edwin and Alberta Cheser.
