Charles proudly served in the United States Army and was a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Berniece Laverne Terry Stanley of Lumberton, his son, Dwain Stanley and his wife, Janis of Lumberton, his grandson, Shenan Stanley and his wife, Sarah of Bryan, Texas and great granddaughter, Serenity Olivia Stanley.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Mr. Stanley's family and friends will be from 5 to 8 Friday, June 8, 2012, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, Texas.
A private interment will be at Newton City Cemetery.
