On 16 Jun 1926 Walter married Mabel Mary Gill in Flandreau. Walter worked for farmers about 10 to 15 years. Then he was with the Egan school about 5 years and with the Egan Elevators for 22 years before retiring. Walter served in World War I from South Dakota as Pvt Co C3 MG BN. Walter and Mabel had three children: Donald Walter Olson, Donna Mae (Olson) Boever and Dale Joseph Olson.
