Rive’ Todd, 88, of Burlington, a
retired teacher, died May 21,1990,
at 4:15 a.m. in her residence.
Born in Carrollton Township on
July 18,1901, she was the daughter
of Warren H. and Minnie Mac Gish
Todd.
Surviving are one sister, Pauline
Head of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.,
and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers preceded her in
death.
Miss Todd was a public school
teacher for 46 years. She taught in
Denver, New Salem, and Carrollton,
retiring in 1967 as supervisor
of the home economics
department at Anderson High
School.
She attended DePauw University
and received her bachelors degree
from Indiana University. She
received her masters degree from
Columbia University.
During the summer months she
often worked as a dietician in summer
camps in Indiana.
Miss Todd was a life-long member
of the Sharon Baptist Church
and was the church treasurer for
many years. She was active in the
Women’s Missionary Society.
She was a charter member of
Beta Alpha Chapter of Psi Iota Xi
in Flora and was a member of
Delta Zeta, Indiana Home
Economics Association, Indiana
Retired Teachers Association, and
the Altrose Club of Anderson.
Services will be Thursday at 2
p.m. at Sharon Baptist Church with
the Rev. James L. Lund officiating.
Burial will be in Beech Grove
Cemetery, Sharon. Friends may
call at Neptune Funeral Home,
Burlington, from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
and one hour prior to services
at the church.
Memorials may be made to the
Beech Grove Cemetery.
