C. O. Burns was a native of Birmingham, AL, who had lived and worked in Texas for about 25 years. He was a maintenance superintendent at the Port Neches Texaco refinery.
Mr. Burns was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Nederland. He was a graduate of Mississippi State College and served as a lieutenant-colonel in the Army during World War II.
At the time of his death, C. O. Burns was survived by his wife, Beth Burns, and two daughters, all of Nederland; his mother, Mrs. Laura Jones of Laurel, MS; two brothers, Frank B Burns of Wynnewood, OK, and James D. Burns of Laurel, MS; and one sister, Mrs. W. T. Boardman of Mobile, AL.
