Mary's siblings were Emmett J. (b.1869 OH), Minnie Aldera (b.1874 IN), Perlletta (b.1879 IN), and Katie M. (b.1882 IN).
Mary's father Adam grew up on a farm in the Van Wert, Ohio area. He was the eldest of eleven children born to Thomas (b.1817 PA) and Mary (b.1825 PA) Cully. He served during the Civil War with Co. E 46th Ohio Infantry, mustering in on 3 Aug. 1862 and out on 4 Jun. 1865 at the end of the war.
Mary's mother Elizabeth also grew up on a farm in Ohio. She was the seventh of eight children born to David (b.1814 PA) and Jane (b.1815 OH) Harrod.
I found Mary's family on the 1880 Census, living in Wabash, Adams Co., Indiana, where her father was working in an "agricultural store". They were still in Wabash on the 1900 Census, but Adam was working as a "camarer" (no idea what that means). By the 1910 Census, the nest is empty, Adam and Elizabeth are alone, and Adam is an "agent" of "sewing machines".
After Mary's mother died in 1913, Mary's father moved to a U.S. National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soliers in Dayton, Ohio on 15 Jun. 1914 where he would stay until his death in 1920. He and Elizabeth were buried in Westlawn Cemetery in Geneva, Adams Co., Indiana.
