The 1860 census for Coffee county, Tn lists Lite (Lytle or Little)b. 1817, Parmelia (Permela)b.1825 with children Narcissa b. 1853 , John and George b. 1859. also living with the family is May Adams age 14 (unsure if this is a child or other relative as she is enumerated after the younger children)

During the 1880 census for Coffee county, TN. John is enumerated as living in his mother Permelia Adams household at 23 years of age. He is a store clerk. There is one brother, George P.Adams, age 20 also living in the home.



Husband Lytle T. Adams is listed in the muster roll for the Civil war Confederate army, 4th regimen, Tennessee's Calvary, (Mclemore's), Company I rank in: private rank out: private (also listed in the 16th Tennessee infantry.) per the civil war soldiers and sailors database. website:http://home.freeuk.net/gazkhan/tenn_roster.htm gives the following information on Little (Lytle) Adams.:

He transferred (from 16th Tennessee infantry company B.)to McBride's Cavalry Company (4th also called 3rd Tenn Cav)
on 4/10/1862. Head lists him as dying in prison in 1864
He is on the transcription list at tngenweb civil war rosters for company B. 16th Tenn Infantry transcription by Linda Reeves.
