William H. Caldwell was born in Larg, Scotland in 1815. He came to Quebec in 1820. He met Catherine Beattie who had come from Ireland to Canada. They were married and became the parents of two little girls, Mary and Eliza Jane.
The Huntingdon Gleaner had this announcement, "...04-02-1907 William H. Caldwell, died at the residence of his son-in-law, James White, of Trout River, aged 95 years"
